Safety

Vehicle Parking

Please think of others when parking your vehicle. It is far too common in our community to see vehicles routinely blocking sidewalks when parked in driveways. We encourage you to park vehicles in your driveway rather than on the street when possible.

If you must park on the street, park with your tires on flat part of the rolled curb to allow as much road space as possible for larger/emergency vehicles (e.g., delivery trucks, ambulances, fire trucks) to pass.

Speeding

Please slow down and observe the 25 mph speed limit in our neighborhood.

We are a neighborhood of families with young children, seniors, and pets. We're often visited by ice cream trucks. Please exercise caution.

Portable Fire Pits

These devices are used for building a fire outside and have become increasingly popular for producing warmth and ambiance at gatherings of family and friends. Portable fire pits are legal in Delaware, but they need to be used properly to ensure fire safety.

When using a fire pit, please be considerate of those living nearby by taking all safety precautions and controlling the amount, content and direction of the smoke.

Finally, please recognize that we live in a community in which the houses are very close together. Improperly used fire pits can lead to accidental fires on your neighbor’s property as well as your own, and the smoke from your fire can be offensive and noxious to you neighbors, especially to those with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
